Race venue/start and finish:

Next to Desert Breeze, at the old water reservoir, Swakopmund (prologue, stages 1 & 2)
Food and drinks will be available for sale

Team Format:

Teams of two persons each. Age category determined by the oldest rider/runner in the pairing. Prizes for the top 3 only in categories with at least three teams starting per category (unless specified differently). If less than 3 teams take part in a category, only the top team will win a prize.

The overall finishing time will be the total completion time of both team members over the full distance of all three days (prologue and stages 1 &2) of the various events.

A team of two needs to make an asserted effort to always remain within 2 minutes of each other on the courses and needs to finish within 2 minutes of each other. The official team time will be taken when the last member crosses a finish line. Time penalties apply for teams that do not comply.

Cyclists have an option to Choose Your Weapon: MTB or Gravel bike:
Each rider may choose to ride either a mountain bike or gravel bike on any stage. The route is designed to accommodate both disciplines. Riders are free to switch bikes between stages depending on personal preference and strategy. Whether you’re seeking the stability of an MTB or the speed of a gravel setup, you decide what works best for you — stage by stage. *Insider tip: stage one is more on trails and stage 2 is more on jeep tracks. Separate E-bike categories will be available.

Stage Breakdown:

Prologue – Optional – The prologue will be done on rolling start format between 17h15 to 18h15

The prologue is not compulsory, but should you decide not to partake, a time penalty of 5 minutes will be added to the last finisher’s time. If participation is all that is important to you, and you are not competing for prizes then this should not deter you in any way.

Stage 1 – The first official race stage. Challenging and diverse, this route will test your team’s coordination and endurance. This is a longer/tougher stage with more trails.
Start times:
TBC

Stage 2 –The final stage. Fast, rugged, and rewarding — this is where teams make their final push for the finish line. The stage will be mainly on jeep tracks so it will be fast.
Start times:
TBC

Prize Giving:

Sunday 20st: 12h00 at Tiger Reef

Seafood specials available to participants

GPX files of the routes will be available in addition to excellently marked routes.
